Tampadelphia's blog
how was your Christmas?
We hope all of you had a happy and healthy holiday. It went fast but had a balance of great people, good food and alot of fun.
If there was a disappointment that touched all of us it's the scheduled game at 4 p.m. right on Christmas Eve. It turned out to be meaningless, but that 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. is a special block of time that would not have been compromised even if it did have meaning for the Eagles. There are traditions and commitments that the NFL doesn't seem to get. Hopefully it's a one time mistake.
we're back @ Doubletree 1 p.m.
This is the last regular season game for the Eagles, and we'll be back at Players inside the Doubletree this Sunday. The optional buffet is on (remember, you can order off the menu too) along with drink specials and our usually good raffle.
It's been a tough season of close calls and bad choices by the coaching staff and front office, and we can be sure they'd like a few of those bad choices back .
no Doubletree on 12/24 4pm
Paul, what!?? We're not going to Players to watch the game? Are you insane?
Hey, it's Christmas Eve. Last week all in attendence said they would not come by to watch the game. It's Christmas Eve, time to be home with family, or at church, or at the table. Somehow the NFL overlooked that when they scheduled the Eagles from 4 to 7 pm on Christmas Eve.
Don't they know Sanata comes that night?
So stay home, fellow diehards. We love the gang at the Doubletree but this time our real family wins.
Merry Christmas to all of you and the gang at the Doubletree.

Merry Christmas!
It's Christmas! That one day of the year when even enemies stop shooting and embrace good will toward men. Grudges are put aside and hearts are opened to help, forgive, love and rebuild with families, friends and enemies.
I'm all for it, and sent a note of good wishes myself to a Grinch or two this season. They can join in or bear the weight of carrying anger and indifference. Which, btw, is not worth it. They'll learn.
So Merry Christmas to all of us in Tampadelphia, regulars, visitors, guests and formers. We wish you the best Christmas ever.
buffet is still optional
At the start of the season the Doubletree made the buffet mandatory, with our knowledge, and priced it at $12. To watch the game cost you $12 plus whatever beverage you chose.
That's all optional now.
No mandatory charge. Order from the menu if you like.
The idea was that we would have enough to rotate the buffet, bring in new items, and make it a killer addition to our game day. Eat early then eat again. Bring the wife, g/f, family, mom . . . al were going to enjoy something.
we hear you!
OK, so the website needs updating. That's my fault. I'll get webmaster Paul and myself on it asap. We'll delete the trash, add the pics, and make the big news more obvious.
Thanks for hanging in there!

Buffet menu 10/9
The buffet is good and just $12 per adult ($6 per child)for 3-4 hours of good food. This week's menu is:
- hot meatball subs, build your own
- assorted sandwiches
- wings
- celery potato skins with sour cream and scallions
- sliced tomatoes and fresh Buffalo Mozzarella with Balsamic vinegar and basil (some call it Caprese salad?)
- nachos
- salad, dressings, sauces and sides
Drink specials are available, ask your server.
Sorta like last weeks? Remeber the comment cards if you want to pass along an idea for the buffet or service.

Phils NLDS game 5
My heart's a pounding, game 5 tomorrow night. Doc Halladay on the mound. The Cards are cagey, edgy and fighting for their lives. Hey, so are we.
I like the Phils' chances.
Should we win (is that PC or what?) join us at the Doubletree for all Phils playoff games. I know they're on late and you have to work, but we're talking Phils and playoffs here (playoffs!)
