Our new Eagles nest is a colossal hit!
Tampadelphia showed up in force yesterday. Both long time regulars and new faces packed our newly renovated nest to SRO at the Doubletree, as we enjoyed the Eagles game and fabulous food in a high def environment.
Wow!-ing folks as they came in, the Players Pub team opened the hot buffet and kept it going into the 4th quarter. Buckets of beer and pitchers of beverages were enjoyed, and needed from all our cheering.
New servers Jennifer and Candace were kept moving all day, along with Sprite, a familiar face from previous seasons. Justin joined Jolita behind the bar and were kept mixing all day. Manager Brian and Tampadelphia adoptee Robert hustled doing everything else from buffet to TV settings to supporting the staff.
Next week promises to be as good. Working new layouts in his mind already, Brian is tweaking ways to add more seats in a better pattern to help your servers speed delivery of your beverages and orders. Brian already has a different buffet menu ready and is stocking up on more buckets, ice and working on raising the sound for the game (it was the control unit that limited our volume, and will be set for game day). And we're not stopping there, either.
It seems like everyone enjoyed the event. As usual, the food is excellent, as is demanded by Hilton's standards.
Eagles raffle prizes included two ladies shirts, one studded, one very long; a visor; a CD holder for your car; a black headband;a 2008 yearbook from last season (the 2009 books just arrived today); and a 2004 Pirates media guide, which is still available. I'm stocked with quaity prizes for the season and ordered more goodies.
Hey, we're worth all this, right? I know you heard it before, but this is for us. It's about quality, not head count. Whatever grinds us down during the week gets blown away on game day. We aim to please and pamper us for those three or four golden hours when we're with family and friends enjoying our Eagles. But back to business . . .
Overflow is not a problem. We can have the other area off the restaurant that we occupied during the renovations, or we'll simply move us and two large 10' TVs into a ballroom across the hall.
We'll always have a chair for everyone.
Your comments about the place and our group are appreciated, especially from the guests here from the Phila. area. It's nice to know you like the way we're enjoying our game days down here in comfort and style, and mentioning Tampadelphia to your friends and family.
Many thanks to everyone who joined us. Please email your pics to me, paul@tampadelphia.com, and I'll get them on our site.

The Location
Your not gonna like my comments but I just can't help myself:
Ordered a Grouper Sandwich: Fishy smell, small portion, got some bone on the first bite.
Service was slow, I had to go flag the girl down at the bar to get another draft beer and the bucket of Coors Lite I ordered had barely any ice in it.
Yuengling drafts $5 bucks a piece? Are you kidding me? This is the beer of the Philly area and it is brewed on Busch Blvd in Tampa and cost the same as Bud & CL. Total rip off I'm sorry to say.
The Sound: I cannot believe there was no game sound. What good is all the pretty stuff on the walls and all the HD (Supposedly) TV's if you can't hear the friggin game?
The Picture on the big screen left a lot to be desired. If it was HD it needs a serious over haul or replacement. The rest of the TV's are mounted so high it's tough to watch.
I'm sorry to be so negative but I really felt strongly about these opinions and had to let you know. I'm gonna head elsewhere next week.
